Fire Ceremony: an introduction and reflection of use
As we approach Spring and the TRUE new year. It is a beautiful time to let go of things that no longer serve us and what which we desire to leave behind stepping forward into a new year, a new chapter of our lives. What a better way in my opinion to let things go than with a fire ceremony. This is one of my favorite ceremonies to do. It is so easy and quickly effective (intention is important). So let’s get into it.
Let us first chat about a few things you will need for this ceremony.
1) Space - find a space you feel comfortable and is fire safe for this ceremony. There are a few ways you can do this ceremony so find a space suitable to your chosen source of fire.
2) Choose your source of fire. We can set up a full blown bonfire, you can use a small porch fire or a candle. I love all options, choose whichever one you can do.
3) Choose your mean to light something on fire. So by this, you can use Bay Leave, you can use the stick from the match you use to light your fire. You can use a stick from a near by tree that’s already fallen.
4) A safe means to put out your fire or an area fire safe to let the fire run its course.
Ultimately, no matter what you choose for this ceremony, follow your intuition on what to use.
